Chantel Shorter Version
Chantel Roberts is a breast cancer survivor whose story is at the heart of Survivor Legacy. Diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2023 at just 30 years old, Chantel’s journey has been one of strength, faith, and perseverance.
Before her own diagnosis, Chantel’s family experienced the loss of her cousin, Nancy, who passed away from cancer at age 39, leaving behind two young children. During Chantel’s treatment journey, a conversation with her mother about honoring Nancy’s memory led Chantel to suggest the name Survivor Legacy, a name that reflects the love, impact, and legacy carried forward by those touched by cancer.
Even while undergoing treatment, Chantel continued to move forward with determination. She earned her master’s degree and closed on her first home just five days after her double mastectomy. Today, she uses her voice and experience to encourage others, raise awareness, and remind those facing cancer that they are not alone.
